Estimator

My client is a reputable and growing general contractor with a strong presence across the Southeast. Specializing in commercial, multifamily, and mixed-use developments, they’ve built a name for delivering quality projects across a wide range of sectors—including office, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and light industrial. As they continue to expand operations in the Atlanta market, they are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team.

Role Overview

The Estimator will be a key contributor to the preconstruction team, responsible for developing accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates for new construction and renovation projects. This role involves collaboration with internal teams, design professionals, and subcontractors to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions and align with project goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs, conceptual budgets, and detailed estimates at various stages of design
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents for accuracy and completeness
• Solicit bids and pricing from subcontractors and vendors; evaluate proposals for completeness and competitiveness
• Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing for future use
• Assist in bid strategy, value engineering, and project phasing plans
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and internal pricing reviews
• Work closely with project managers and executives to develop winning proposals and support project handoff

Ideal Candidate

• 3 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, market pricing, and subcontractor scopes
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage, or similar tools
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple bids in a deadline-driven environment
