Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments to determine students' occupational therapy needs.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address students' unique goals and challenges.
- Provide direct therapy services, including one-on-one and group sessions, to students with diverse needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to promote student achievement.
- Maintain thorough documentation of student evaluations, progress, and treatment modifications.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, contributing expert input to the development of student goals.
- Provide training and resources to educators and parents to support therapy goals both at school and at home.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Illinois.
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Fulfillment of all state and local requirements for practicing occupational therapy in a school setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
