What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kayak Tour Guide position at Blazin' Paddles?
Blazin' Paddles is starting our 9th season and we are looking for kayak guides to join our team.
Blazin' Paddles operates guided kayak tours on the Black Canyon portion of the Colorado River. Our office/ store and warehouse are located in Boulder City, NV and launch points are at the base of the Hoover Dam and Willow Beach, AZ.
Our tours offer adventure, visiting spots such as: Goldstrike Hot Springs, Arizona Hot Springs, Emerald Cave, Sauna Cave, The Hoover Dam, beaches for bon fires and short hikes in Black Canyon.
Our guides give a memorable experience to our guests, from pick ups at the Las Vegas Strip to leading them down the Colorado River.
What we are looking for: We are looking for people who are passionate about the outdoors and want to share that with others. Strong leadership and great customer service skills. Our busiest time is in the summer, so our guides work in extreme heat as we are located in Southern Nevada/ Arizona (the water is always 52-54 degrees, great way to cool off). Our guides transport our guests/ kayaks in our Mercedes Sprinter Vans so a clean driving record is ideal as you will be added to our insurance. Guides load and unload the kayaks in and out of the river, so lifting 50 pounds is necessary. A lot of our guests are beginner kayakers so patience in teaching, and making the guests feel safe is a must.
First Aid/ CPR/ Wilderness First Aid Certified a PLUS, but not required. We will train!
We are a small family owned business. Our main focus is having fun and giving our guests a 5 star experience! If you think you would be perfect for this job, please apply!!! Hopefully we'll see you out on the water.
