JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for ensuring the timely scheduling of provider clinic appointments for all Blessing Health System providers. The Clinic Registration / Scheduling Specialist ensures patients are scheduled in the first available appointment in accordance with provider protocols. The position conducts professional patient interviews, obtains insurance information at the time of scheduling to appropriately bill payers, and verify insurance eligibility and benefits. During the patient interview, the Clinic Registration / Scheduling Specialist obtains demographic, financial, and biographical information needed to properly bill claims and ensure accurate records and successful future communication with patients. The Clinic Registration / Scheduling Specialist is responsible for the delivery of quality performance and service excellence.

This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Missions of Blessing Health Systems. ICARE standards must be demonstrated. Adherence to Code of Conduct and other policies is required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training/Experience:

REQUIRED:

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with GED.
• Computer literacy required, including the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other office products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer services skills, ability to independently problem-solve, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Positive interpersonal relationship skills required.
• Complete Medical Terminology Course within one year of hire.

PREFERRED:

• Some College preferred.
• Medical Terminology preferred.
• One year of clerical and customer service experience preferred.

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:

• Maintain current BLS
