What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Associate position at Blick Art Materials?
Your Role...
Overall Purpose and Main Objectives:
To support Retail Design Centers by processing supply orders, coordinating with vendors, and Custom Service. While also ensuring clear communication across departments to resolve quality control issues efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Create purchase orders in various systems
- Contact vendors to obtain information regarding purchase order due dates, costs, etc.
- Daily data entry to maintain purchase order information
- Send order confirmations to vendors
- Resolve invoicing issues in a timely manner
- Work with Retail Design Centers to resolve any order discrepancies
- Work various reports pertaining to purchase orders or system information
- Oversee Quality Control inbox and logging information
- Facilitate communication between various groups to support Quality Control resolution
- Process returns or credits for Quality Control
- Follow and support departmental policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
- Proficiency in Windows, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to train in AS400 systems (specifically Commercial Ware and JDA MMS)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility in schedule to meet deadlines
- Handle and coordinate multiple tasks at once
- Ability to work well alone or with others with minimal supervision
- Ability to work 8a to 4:30p M-F with overtime as needed
- High school diploma or equivalency required
Pay Rate:
The pay range below is provided in compliance with state/city specific laws. This pay range applies to this location. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
