What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver/DSP position at Blick Center?
The Blick Center has been helping individuals for 50 years. Serving early childhood, school-age, and adult individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, and physical, and mental health diagnoses.
We currently have openings for Direct Service Professionals (DSP).
A DSP is a professional who empowers & supports an individual with a disability by providing skill development, and social skills, & assisting with daily living activities (bathing, self-care, etc.). All homes are located in the Akron area.
Starting pay is $17/hour plus a $1/hour shift premium for working weekends starting Friday afternoon to Monday morning.
We have multiple full-time shift opportunities including:
Weekdays 2 pm-10 pm (varies by home).
Weekday mornings 6 am-10 am (varies by home).
Weekend hours (all shifts).
We offer paid training, including First Aid & CPR. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license with less than 6 points.
Able to push & pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
18 years of age & older.
