The gentlemen will love being take out in the community, taken to appointments, he enjoys models, painting and just all-around having FUN! We will train the right candidate for this position.
The schedule: Monday 12pm-3:30pm, Tuesday 12pm-3:30pm, Wednesday 12pm-3pm, Friday 12pm-3:30pm and Sunday 8am-12:30pm
The job will require the client to be transported so this means you will need your OWN transportation, current auto insurance and current driver's license.
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other related conditions. This position requires a strong commitment to providing personalized support and assistance in daily living activities while promoting independence and dignity.
Duties
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and senior care needs.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and document vital signs as required, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Engage clients in social activities and community integration to promote social skills and enhance overall well-being.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients while fostering a positive environment.
- Assist in managing behavioral challenges by implementing appropriate strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
Qualifications
- Experience in social work, home health care, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of care plans and experience in dementia care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or senior care is essential.
- Ability to monitor vital signs and understand basic health-related concepts.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others achieve their goals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of clients.
