Medium size law firm seeks experienced paralegal to fulfill the responsibilities associated with supporting an attorney practicing civil litigation, construction defects, and zoning/land use/development.
The candidate will be responsible, detail-oriented, organized, motivated, and can manage a file from opening to completion. This includes drafting documents, such as correspondence, pleadings and discovery; review and organize incoming information; investigative tasks; completion of forms; and motion/trial support.
Qualified individuals will have the ability to communicate with clients, other law offices and court personnel. The individual must understand and respect not only the privacy of an individual but understand and implement nondisclosure of personal information and attorney-client privileged information.
This is a full-time position to begin immediately. Benefits include sick leave, vacation days, paid holidays, 401(k) matching and health/life insurance. Monetary compensation will be determined based on experience.
Job Requirements
Candidates MUST have the following:
- An active Paralegal Certification;
- Experience using Microsoft Office: a thorough working knowledge of Outlook for sending/receiving emails, Word for preparing correspondence, pleadings, and written discovery, and Excel for medical record organization;
- Experience with cloud-based document storage (uploading, downloading, editing, sharing links, etc.);
- Calendar maintenance along with an ability to meet court and client deadlines; and,
- The ability to review the contents of a file and identify the information necessary to complete forms and templates.
- Experience using Clio and Box is preferred.
