SAP PP Lead

Job Purpose:

The SAP PP Lead will play an integral role in leading the design, configuration, implementation and maintenance of the SAP PP/Production Planning module in the SAP S4 HANA platform in alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives. This position will serve as a subject matter expert in SAP PP by validating business requirements in all areas of Production Planning, MRP, Demand Planning, Quality Management, Manufacturing and propose best practices for process standardization, efficiencies. Blommer is embarking on an SAP business transformation and the SAP PP lead will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery and adoption of SAP Production Planning processes by leveraging best practices in S4 HANA. This role will also be required to successfully build credible partnerships with business stakeholders to achieve the intended value proposition of the SAP S4 HANA platform and realize the strategic objectives of the transformation program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive the design, development, testing and implementation of SAP PP/Supply Chain solutions, considering best practices and industry standards.
• Collaborate with business process leader(s), consultant(s) and other functional and technical leads to develop Manufacturing capabilities in the S4 HANA platform.
• Lead / Facilitate (with consultants) workshops, design sessions and gap analysis based on requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP PP solutions.
• Configure and customize SAP S/4HANA PP modules to meet business requirements while ensuring best practices and system optimization.
• Gain commitment from multiple functional leaders simultaneously on design decisions.
• Document business requirements, functional specifications, technical designs, developing comprehensive test cases to ensure end-to-end process integrity.
• Provides functional support to production issues in SAP PP, including Production Planning, Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Quality Management.
• Execute S4 HANA configuration design, testing and approvals in order to implement business performance optimization initiatives.
• Supports period end activities, year-end activities, cross-company posting, foreign currency valuation process and reconciliation activities.
• Conduct Functional testing, System Integration testing, Regression testing to make sure the system set up is as expected with no errors.
• Provide end-to-end support for SAP S/4HANA PP applications, including troubleshooting, resolving issues, and conducting regular system maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Must have 10 years of hands-on SAP implementation experience with strong knowledge in design, architecting solutions in SAP Production Planning functionality - (Demand driven MRP, Production Orders, Planning & Execution, Production Scheduling, Capacity Planning) including SAP PP (discrete manufacturing) and/or PP-PI (process manufacturing)
• 1-2 full life cycle implementation experience in S/4 HANA 1909 and 3 previous full implementation projects experience in SAP ECC including blueprint design, implementation, customization, configuration and post Go Live support of SAP PP modules.
• 3 years working with SAP PP Experience using at least three of the following: Make to Stock and Make to Order in process manufacturing Experience performing at least 2 full-cycle SAP implementation or large-scale ERP implementations for manufacturing companies, with configuration responsibilities including PP.
• SAP PP/DS implementation and customization experience
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Experience with designing solution to evaluate material requirements based on demand forecasts, sales orders, and production plans, ensuring timely availability of materials
• Shop Floor Control: Experience with designing solutions to track and monitor production activities on the shop floor, including work order management, capacity utilization, and production order execution
• Capacity Planning: Experience with designing solutions to determine and optimize the capacity requirements for production processes, helping to balance workload and ensure efficient resource utilization
• Quality Management: experience with designing solutions quality control processes within production, including inspection planning, quality notifications, and quality data recording
• Ability to architect solutions in the SAP PP / Mfg /MM functional areas by seamlessly integrating with MM, WM, SD, FICO functional areas
• Strong experience on the PP/PI front along with hands on experience on Batch Management, Batch determination, Batch derivation & Serial Number Management, Process Management
• Strong knowledge in SAP QM (In process Inspection, Inspection Characteristics, Sampling Procedures, Inspection Plan, etc.)
• Understanding of PP-APO, PP-PI, Machine Learning, IOT, Cloud, AI
• Working knowledge and experience in implementing MTS, MTO scenarios.
• Deep knowledge of Production Planning Master data (BOM, Routing, Work Centers, Recipe)
• Extensive experience with integration of SAP modules such as SD, QM, MM, FI and Product Costing
• Good experience in handling interfaces with non-SAP applications. Understanding of SAP technologies including but not limited to EDI, File transfer, API, etc
• Strong understanding of warehouse management processes, including inbound/outbound logistics, inventory management, and material movements.

SAP MES (Manufacturing Execution System) preferred not a must have.
