What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Scientist-Nashville (1st Shift Full Time) position at Blood Assurance?
Blood Assurance has a full-time 1st shift (Monday-Friday, working 6am-2:30pm) with rotating weekend coverage and holidays for a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist position in our Nashville lab location.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform basic to complex serologic patient testing and interpret result to determine donor-recipient compatibility.
- Perform serologic antigen typing on donor units.
- May consult and communicate with staff at other medical facilities, to resolve serologic problems and provide special units to transfusion recipients.
- Maintain accurate, legible and complete records.
- Adhere to explicit standard operating procedures and interpret test results in accordance with applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
Qualified candidates must have current MT or MLT Certification and AS/BS Degree. Blood banking experience preferred but, not required. Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a positive, professional attitude.
