Substitute Daycare/Preschool Teacher

Job Overview
We are looking for multiple passionate and adaptable Substitute Teachers to join our early childhood education team. Duties

• Step in and meet the needs of children in the classroom, providing a positive, safe, and supportive environment.
• Implement the daily lesson plans left by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of educational activities.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment where children feel comfortable and engaged.
• Observe and assess children's developmental progress, communicating any concerns to the regular teacher or director.
• Maintain classroom routines and use effective behavior management strategies to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the classroom runs smoothly and children’s needs are met.
• Communicate with parents as needed to address any immediate concerns or updates about their child’s day.
• Follow safety and first-aid procedures as necessary to maintain the health and well-being of students.

Requirements

• Teacher-qualified OR an Aid 2 in the state of Oregon (If you're unsure, we can help you confirm this!)
• Knowledge of early childhood development and classroom management techniques.
• Previous experience working with children is preferred (caregiving, nannying, or as a substitute teacher).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with children, parents, and staff.
• A flexible and adaptable attitude, as this role involves stepping in and adjusting to various classroom settings.
• A passion for working with children and supporting their growth is a must!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 15 per week
