Job Overview
We are looking for multiple passionate and adaptable Substitute Teachers to join our early childhood education team. Duties
- Step in and meet the needs of children in the classroom, providing a positive, safe, and supportive environment.
- Implement the daily lesson plans left by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of educational activities.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment where children feel comfortable and engaged.
- Observe and assess children's developmental progress, communicating any concerns to the regular teacher or director.
- Maintain classroom routines and use effective behavior management strategies to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the classroom runs smoothly and children’s needs are met.
- Communicate with parents as needed to address any immediate concerns or updates about their child’s day.
- Follow safety and first-aid procedures as necessary to maintain the health and well-being of students.
Requirements
- Teacher-qualified OR an Aid 2 in the state of Oregon (If you're unsure, we can help you confirm this!)
- Knowledge of early childhood development and classroom management techniques.
- Previous experience working with children is preferred (caregiving, nannying, or as a substitute teacher).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with children, parents, and staff.
- A flexible and adaptable attitude, as this role involves stepping in and adjusting to various classroom settings.
- A passion for working with children and supporting their growth is a must!
