Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Location: Helena, Montana

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Position Objective:

The HR Manager is responsible for leading and executing human resources strategies that drive business success at Bloom Montana. This role will oversee talent management, employee relations, total rewards, and HR operations while fostering a culture of engagement, compliance, and growth. The HR Manager will serve as a strategic partner to leadership and a trusted resource for employees.

Essential Functions:

Talent Management & Organizational Development

  • Develops and delivers HR strategies that build organizational capability to achieve business goals.
  • Partners with leadership to align HR initiatives with business objectives, including performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Leads change management efforts, ensuring smooth implementation of people-related projects and processes.
  • Builds communication plans and change management decks for any mergers or acquisitions. Effectively leads change efforts to ensure newly acquired employees feel welcome, supported and engaged through site visits, surveys and effective communication.
  • Enhances company culture by promoting supportive behaviors, employee engagement, and leadership development.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Leads recruiting efforts in partnership with field leadership, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent.
  • Designs and delivers an effective onboarding process, including new hire orientation and integration into company culture.
  • Proactively identifies hiring risks or opportunities that enable an effective talent acquisition partnership to the business, reviewing hiring & local market trends, turnover insights, etc…
  • Creates and maintains a TA dashboard, measuring days to fill and quality of hire

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Serves as the primary HR contact for employee relations, handling performance issues, investigations, and policy enforcement.
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws, including EEOC, FMLA, ADA, and other state/federal regulations.
  • Provides guidance to managers on handling employee concerns, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains an open-door culture where employees feel heard, valued, and supported.

Performance Management & Learning & Development

  • Leads and manages the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, and annual reviews. Reviews effectiveness of each aspect of the program on a quarterly basis.
  • Develops L&D plan in partnership with leadership. Executes as aligned upon.
  • Provides training and development options to employees and managers, ensuring continuous growth.
  • Designs and facilitates learning programs that enhance leadership and employee skills.
  • Optimizes tools and resources to develop training programs that fit the needs of the business.

Total Rewards (Compensation & Benefits)

  • Manages compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and pay equity.
  • Oversees benefits administration, ensuring competitive offerings and compliance with regulations.
  • Works with insurance and 401(k) providers to optimize benefit programs and support employees effectively.
  • Leads annual benefits strategy, open enrollment, and training initiatives.

People Analytics & Employee Engagement

  • Analyzes HR data (engagement surveys, exit interviews, turnover rates) to provide insights and drive improvements.
  • Partners with leadership to develop action plans that enhance employee satisfaction and workplace culture.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Partners with, leverages and optimizes “HR Services” support from Pinion, to effectively achieve goals, meet deadlines and maintain efficacy within the HR function.
  • Leads Company communications, ensuring effective messaging and comprehension throughout the organization.
  • Ensures accurate administration of HR policies, procedures, and records.
  • Supports HR compliance initiatives, including audits, reporting, and risk mitigation.
  • Assists in other HR projects and initiatives as needed.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Must have at least 2 years of human resources generalist experience
  • Prior experience with a combination of employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, learning & development, total rewards experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience supporting multiple locations as the HR focal point is preferred

Knowledge and Other Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a self-starter, with the ability to identify opportunities to provide and contribute value to the organization
  • Must have an eye for process improvement and have the willingness to take initiative to identify solutions to business problems, while offering options to business leaders
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced corporate and/or start-up environment
  • Flexibility with schedule, hours, etc…
  • Demonstrated ability to accept and learn from coaching
  • Commitment to ongoing self-development and learning
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and with exceptional integrity and discretion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Not easily frustrated or discouraged, extremely resilient and positive mindset
  • Ability to focus, prioritize, and manage time efficiently and effectively
  • High proficiency with MS Office suite

Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel)

  • Hours will vary depending on the needs of the business. Nights, Weekends, and Holidays are to be expected.
  • Ability to travel regularly across the state of Montana to company locations
