General Job Description :
As a Computer Science teacher, provide guidance and instructional experiences that are academically and developmentally appropriate for each student assigned to that classroom. The Computer Science Teacher, will also provide technology assistance by distributing chromebooks to students and helping with IT basic needs for students and staff..
Work Schedule : Contract Days : 190
Contract Hours : 7.5 Hours / day
Minimum Qualifications :
- Current NM Teaching License (Level II or Level III; Level III preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree - Degree in Education Technology Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Teaching experience in integrating technology and curriculum;Experience with multimedia tools (LCD panels, projection systems, digital cameras, etc.);Experience with MS Office products (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps for Education products (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, etc);Working knowledge of PC computers and software;Ability to work with staff at all levels of technology experience;Ability to provide technology instruction in both groups and one-on-one;Willingness to conduct and participate in district and school technology meetings;Willingness to travel among schools to work with teachers, staff, and students for training and collaboration;Effective communication skills, both verbal and written;Flexibility, organization, decision-making, and problem solving skills;Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone;Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and coordinate the work of others;Organized work habits and project management skills;Strong skills in working both alone and in teams.Essential Job Responsibilities - Computer Science Teacher

1.Manage time appropriately.
2.Create a positive atmosphere and arrange the physical environment of the classroom for optimum learning.
3.Prepare for instruction and show written evidence of preparation.
4.Maintain accurate and complete records as required by the school district and reports progress or
lack thereof to parents in a timely manner.
5.Demonstrate concern for student's well being and positive esteem.
6.Cooperate with administration, parents and co-workers.
7.Communicate accurate and up-to-date information to students in a way that enhances student
learning and includes demonstrating effective writing skills and use of standard English.
8.IEP of any special needs student assigned to that classroom.
9.Complete duties (hall, bus, etc.) as assigned.
10.Leave adequate preparations for a substitute.
Physical Requirements :
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, squatting, kneeling. Must know how to properly operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
