Job Summary
Blount Logistics Services, LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Driver/Dispatcher to join our leadership team. The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily delivery routes and providing field support for delivery drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Shift: Oversee and manage drivers' daily routes to optimize delivery efficiency and ensure timely completion of all scheduled shipments. Resolve any real-time issues that arise to maintain on-time and efficient package delivery. Adhere to daily dispatcher checklist and administrative expectations.
2. Monitor Driver Progress: Closely monitor driver progress throughout the day, using Cortex routing software and other tools to track performance. Quickly identify and resolve any delays or problems to keep deliveries on schedule. Optimize Cortex delivery routes and driver assignments, maximizing productivity and efficiency.
3. Effectively communicate with drivers ensuring we are maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. Assess and escalate necessary issues to management during and/or at the conclusion of each shift.
4. Vehicle Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating vehicle maintenance schedules. Troubleshoot real-time vehicle issues that occur during delivery routes.
5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Monitor and communicate safety issues and resolutions during delivery routes.
6. Effectively communicate with Amazon team via Chime platform in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Must have excellent, professional communication skills.
· Dispatching: Minimum of 1 year in a dispatcher, logistics coordinator, or related role (DSP experience preferred).
- Self-motivated and trustworthy to handle leadership responsibilities. Excels at multitasking and prioritizing tasks.
- Must be capable of working as part of a team and cultivate a team culture among co-workers.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and be willing to adhere, support, and promote to management guidelines and goals.
- Available at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) and evenings until 11pm.
- At least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
- Must have a clean driving record and pass a background check.
- Must pass a 4-panel drug screen
- Be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to operate and navigate a delivery van, GVWR 10,000 lbs. or less.

· Dispatcher Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Coordinate Driver Schedules: Assign routes to drivers and monitor their progress throughout the day.
- Real-Time Issue Management: Address delivery-related challenges such as delays, mechanical issues, or routing problems in real time.
- Communicate Effectively: Act as the primary point of contact between drivers and the operations team, providing updates and resolving inquiries.
- Route Optimization: Use Company's portals and tools to optimize delivery routes for efficiency and timeliness.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure drivers adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and delivery standards.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of driver activity, performance metrics, and incident reports.
· Performance Monitoring: Track driver performance and provide feedback or escalate issues as needed.
· Ability to work a flexible shift (including early mornings, late evenings, and/or weekends)
· Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs
· Ability to drive Delivery Vehicles when needed
Available Shifts: 4-5 days a week/ 8-hour shifts, 4 days a week/10:15 minute shifts or customized shift based on needs. Full and part-time positions available.
*All dispatchers will need DOT certification*
Job Type: Full-time & Part Time
Pay: $21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week (20 hrs – part-time)
