Position Overview: The Kitchen Team Member is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. This position will involve food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and ensuring the kitchen meets all health and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation:
- Prepare ingredients for dishes (washing, chopping, slicing, etc.) according to recipes and kitchen specifications.
- Assist in assembling food orders in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Cooking & Grilling:
- Cook, fry, grill, and assemble menu items in accordance with company standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, fryers, grills) safely and efficiently.
- Cleanliness & Sanitation:
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized regularly to meet health and safety standards.
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, kitchen equipment, and cleanliness.
- Empty trash and handle waste according to company policies.
- Inventory & Stocking:
- Assist in receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries of food and kitchen supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management when stock needs to be replenished.
- Teamwork & Communication:
- Work efficiently with team members to ensure quick, smooth, and effective food service.
- Communicate with front of house staff to ensure orders are completed correctly and on time.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Follow food safety protocols and maintain proper hygiene.
- Ensure compliance with local health regulations and company policies.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and reaching.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong communication skills with team members and managers.
- Must be able to follow instructions and handle feedback professionally.
- Attention to Detail:
- Ability to follow recipes and orders with accuracy.
- High attention to cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Time Management:
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Availability: Flexible scheduling, including availability on weekends, evenings,
and holidays, is preferred.
