Banquet Manager

```Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Banquet Manager to join our team at Blowing Rock Country Club. As a Banquet Manager, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of events, from member events, golf outings and weddings to social gatherings. I. Requirements:

a) A degree in Hospitality Management is preferred but not required

b) Five or more years of work experience in banquets or events, preferably from the Private Club, Resorts or Luxury segment of the hospitality industry

c) Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet applications and point of sales (Jonas)

d) Strong time management and organizational skills

e) Attention to detail

f) A friendly, attentive attitude and professional appearance

g) A passion for providing members and guests with high-quality service

h) Ability to quickly identify members by name

i) Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays

j) The ability to coach, train and mentor supervisors and/or hourly employees

II. Responsibilities:

a) Assist in participating in job recruitment efforts to secure staff for the season

b) Assures that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented

c) Inspects to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance and other standards are consistently met

d) Assures that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently utilized

e) Manages the long-range staffing needs of the department

f) Establishes quantity and quality output standards for personnel in all positions within the department

g) Consults with the Executive Chef, Director of Food & Beverage, Food & Beverage Manager and other applicable club administrators daily to help assure the highest level of member satisfaction at minimum cost

h) Greet guests and oversee actual service on a consistent routine basis

i) Develops on-going professional development and training programs for the service and bar production/service personnel

j) Ensures correct handling procedures to minimize china and glassware breakage and food waste

k) Addresses member and guest complaints and/or opportunities and advises the F&B Director about appropriate corrective actions taken in a timely manner

l) Develops interesting ways of promoting club functions in the dining room, lounge and other outlets

m) Assists in planning and implementing procedures for special club events and banquet functions

n) Maintains appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities

o) Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures

p) Manages physical inventory verification and provides updated information to the accounting department

q) Responsible for the proper accounting and reconciliation of the Point of Sale systems and member revenues

r) Maintains records of special events

s) Participates in Calendar review and implementation for annual events, club events and outside bookings

t) Attend weekly meetings set forth to review upcoming events

u) Assures all billing is generated and accurate before sending it to the Accounting Department.

v) Works with outside vendors to assure the Clubs policies are being followed to our standards
