WHO’S IN THE KITCHEN
The Associate Editor works on the daily execution of all Blue Apron recipe cards. They ensure the accuracy and clarity of all recipe card copy, owning a set of recipes on a weekly basis.
WHAT'S ON THE MENU
Copy-Edit Assigned Recipe Cards.
Ensure accuracy and clarity of all instructional copy using house style guide.
Cross-check all assets against internal tools.
Write and edit copy.
Ensure accuracy between text and photography.
Crossread & Edit Additional Recipe Cards.
Ensure accuracy and clarity of all instructional copy using house style guide.
Cross-check all assets against internal tools.
Copy-edit titles.
Copy-edit copy.
Ensure accuracy between text and photography.
Proofread Recipe Cards.
Ensure grammatical accuracy of all instructional, title, and headnote copy.
Adhere to various weekly deadlines in the editorial print cycle.
Work cross functionally with production, design, regulatory, procurement, and coworkers in test kitchen to create recipe cards.
NECESSARY INGREDIENTS
1-3 years of professional experience as a copy editor/writer.
Educational background in English, Journalism, or related field. Focus on food is a plus.
Experience working in K4, Adobe InCopy, Asana, and G Suite a plus.
Masterful command of English grammar, usage, and mechanics.
Superb attention to detail.
Excellent research and fact-checking skills.
Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
Ability to quickly learn, implement, and maintain house style guides.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Enthusiasm for all things food and cooking a plus.
