What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at Blue Cave Italian Restaurant?
HOST/HOSTESS MUST HAVE a friendly and outgoing personality. You are the first person customers see as they enter the restaurant.
- Greet guests, offer wait times, and seat guests.
- Answer phones and take reservations.
- For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive until their departure.
- Use POS system.
- Use of Open Table Reservation System.
- Record To Go orders.
- Other duties as deemed necessary when there are slow times, such as preparing the front entrance by cleaning windows and doors, making sure front floor area is swept clean.
- Assist servers in any way necessary when you are not fulfilling your general duties (you are part of a team).
- Sanitizing menus after use.
Qualifications
Host/Hostess Qualifications:
- Host/hostess experience
- Food service background
- Strong customer service skills
- Previous restaurant experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of POS systems, including Aloha POS and Micros POS
- Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in hotels
- Proficiency in guest services and relations
- Ability to handle serving duties
- Good phone etiquette skills
