What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Aide (temp-to-perm) position at Blue Chip Staffing?
Our client is a nonprofit Senior Community Center located in Point, NY in need of a contract Kitchen Aide. This position pays $19.21 per hour. This is contract to potential hire position.
Schedule: M-F, 9 AM - 1 PM
The Kitchen Aide is responsible for the preparation and serving of food and maintenance of the kitchen & equipment of the Senior Community Service Center.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Receive, check and store food and supplies.
2. Record food temperatures each day and ensure compliance with Nassau County Office for the Aging regulations.
3. Heat food to mandated serving temperatures and maintain appropriate cold food temperatures.
4. Prepare and serve food per Nassau County Department of Health food safety regulations.
5. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen and serving equipment.
6. Adhere to all sanitary procedures and safety measures, including the wearing of hairnets, plastic gloves and aprons.
7. Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas daily.
8. Clean and sanitize restrooms daily.
9. Perform all other relevant duties as assigned by Supervision and Administration.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
1. High School Diploma or educational equivalent required.
2. Certification of Food Service Managers Training from Nassau County Department of Health, or able to pass test upon hire
3. Minimum of one year prior food service experience required.
4. Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of the elderly.
5. Able to lift heavy kitchen pans & trays as required by job.
6. Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
