Electrical Design Engineer (BMS) 4 yrs exp - Onsite @ Palo Alto , CA
Hands-on experience through the full lifecycle of hardware and systems development. You ve led multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance, high-reliability electronics, and you're ready to apply that expertise in designing complex automotive components from concept to mass production.
System-Level Design
- Collaborate across domains to guide electrical implementation and select sensors, actuators, video subsystems, and functional allocations.
- Architect systems using your expertise to ensure performance and reliability.
Requirements Definition
- Decompose functional requirements into detailed system architecture.
- Drive component-level requirements and circuit-level decisions.
Detailed Component Design
- Design complete electronic modules from the ground up to autmotive standards.
- Balance thermal design, compute performance, and long-term durability in harsh automotive environments.
- Collaborate with packaging and CAE engineers to meet mechanical and reliability goals.
- Generate all required documentation including failure analysis, WCCA, derating, and test reports.
Software and Systems Integration
- Define hardware-software interface requirements.
- Work closely with software, integration, and release teams to ensure seamless functionality across all levels bench, system, and in-vehicle.
Test and Validation
- Partner with validation engineers to rigorously test and verify designs against internal standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during testing and validation.
Mass Production Support
- Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers to complete PFMEA and hit production KPIs.
- Support troubleshooting during production ramp-up and volume manufacturing.
This Is What You ll Need
- Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5 years of experience in full lifecycle electrical hardware development
- Deep expertise in Mixed-Signal and High-Speed design (DDR, PCIe, SI/PI)
- Knowledge of Battery Management Systems (BMS) and PCB design/manufacturing processes
