Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Dog Boarding Attendant. As a Dog Boarding Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing care and ensuring the well-being of our furry guests. If you have a love for animals and enjoy working in a fast-paced, fun environment, this position is perfect for you. Our daycare is Monday-Friday, we are a busy facility with an average of 55 dogs per day, divided into separate areas based on play style and energy. In the evenings and on the weekends, we take select groups of 15 dogs that will be boarded in a kennel free environment, directly monitored by our boarding attendant.
Duties:
- Supervise and monitor dogs in a daycare/boarding setting, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Engage in playtime activities with dogs, providing mental and physical stimulation
- Feed dogs according to their specific dietary needs and administer medications if required
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the facility, including cleaning up after dogs
- Assist with bathing and grooming of dogs as needed
- Provide basic training and reinforcement of commands to promote good behavior
- Interact with dog owners, providing updates on their pets' activities and addressing any concerns or questions
- Feed and medicate animals according to the schedule provided.
Skills:
- Animal care: Experience or knowledge in caring for animals, particularly dogs is a plus. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects such as dog food bags or crates
- Dog handling: Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
- Kennel: Knowledge of kennel operations, including cleaning protocols and animal housing
- Dog training: Basic understanding of dog training techniques and commands is a plus. Willing to train the right candidate.
We are currently hiring for 9pm-7am. The shift will have two consistent days per week being either Monday, Tuesdays, OR Wednesday, Thursdays, then the shift will rotate every other Friday-Sunday. This schedule allows for 5 days off in a row every other week!
