As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician in Providence, RI, you will be responsible for providing high-quality service, maintenance, repairs, and installation for commercial HVAC systems. You will deliver exceptional customer service while working efficiently on a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across commercial facilities in the region.
As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician in Providence, RI, you will be responsible for providing high-quality service, maintenance, repairs, and installation for commercial HVAC systems. You will deliver exceptional customer service while working efficiently on a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across commercial facilities in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for HVAC-R systems, including ductwork, refrigerant management (recovery, reclaiming, and leak detection), and system diagnostics.
- Handle full-scale AC, Heating & Refrigeration installations, including equipment removal and new installs, duct repair/replacement (fiberglass, flex, metal), venting flues, and soldering.
- Measure and interpret refrigeration system parameters like gas pressures and temperatures, calculating static pressure and CFM delivery to ensure optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with inspectors, suppliers, and fellow team members to ensure all project work complies with local codes and regulations.
- Provide detailed recommendations for repairs or replacements to ensure client satisfaction and long-term system reliability.
- Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers throughout the repair or installation process.
- Mentor and train junior team members when needed.
- Always represent the company with a professional and positive attitude in all customer and team interactions.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC service and maintenance.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal HVAC codes, and ability to apply them in practice.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient with digital communication tools, including emails, instant messaging, and various applications for job tracking and reporting.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work year-round in various environmental conditions.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to maintain insurability under the company policy.
Required Licenses:
- Rhode Island HVAC License: Candidates must possess an active Rhode Island HVAC license or be able to obtain one upon hiring.
- Rhode Island Refrigeration License: Candidates must also hold a valid Rhode Island Refrigeration license.
