Paralegal - Civil / Commercial Litigation
- Location: Boca Raton, FL – local candidates only please
- 100% In-office, full time position (Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST with flexible hours as needed)
- Compensation: $55,000 to $85,000 base salary range (commensurate with experience); discretionary bonus potential; benefits package
Summary: Corporate Division of well-established law firm seeks a dynamic Paralegal to support a 2 Attorney team in its Boca Raton, FL office. The successful candidate will be highly organized, motivated to deliver exceptional service to attorneys and clients, lend strategic insight to civil matters and in all other ways help promote a cooperative team environment.
Responsibilities for Paralegal include but not limited to:
- Monitor & handle litigation files with managing attorneys from pre-suit through trial
- Draft pleadings, memos, and correspondence for attorney review and finalizing
- Assist with processing all discovery documents for attorney review
- Prepare pleading and discovery in federal and state court
- Prepare document production and responses to discovery
- Calendaring of hearings, depositions, meetings, deadlines, and all other litigation-related events
- Coordinate travel arrangements for attorneys, witnesses, clients, and others
- Scheduling couriers, court reporters, and expert witnesses
- Assisting with processing all discovery documents for attorney review
- Assisting attorneys with hearing and trial preparation
- Conducting preliminary legal research
- Perform initial and preliminary drafts, mark-ups, and reviews of basic document templates, agreements, renewals and contracts
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel and staff, court staff, etc. by telephone, email, letter, and in-person meetings as necessary
- Track and prepare corporate filings in various states
Qualifications for Paralegal:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ solid litigation experience as a Commercial Paralegal with extensive Civil/Commercial Litigation experience
- Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate preferred but not required if candidate possesses appropriate job-related experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, Client Profiles/Aderant
- Familiar with procedural rules within the State of Florida and/or Federal Court
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal court litigation documentation and E-filing procedures
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, ability to keep up with fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, prioritizing, ability to analyze, gather & summarize data, drafting/proof-reading, and self-starting
- Ability to support multiple lawyers so that they can use their time more efficiently
- Ability to articulately communicate with clients, attorneys, and other professionals
- Proficiency in Spanish a plus
