Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to our Finance management team and has a new opportunity for a Manager Accounting Operations. This position plays a crucial role in the daily management of the organization's financial resources, optimizing cash flow, and ensuring liquidity. This position provides oversight of accounts receivable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, accounts payable, and payroll functions. In addition, this position manages banking relationships and ensures robust internal controls around cash, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
This position is eligible to work hybrid (9 or more days a month onsite) in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment."

Compensation

The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. Monitor and manage daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs; accurately forecast cash needs, reconcile bank statements, and implement strategies to optimize cash reserves and investments while minimizing financial risks. Prepare and present regular reports on cash flow, liquidity, and treasury activities to the Controller, AVP Finance Strategy and Operations, and CFOPartner with applicable Blue Plans and third-party providers in ensuring, timely and accurate reporting on financial activities in compliance with internal, external, and regulatory requirements.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, negotiating terms and conditions for credit facilities and services; collaborate to ensure effective cash management solutions and assess the bank's performance in meeting the company's financial needs.Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process to ensure accurate and timely disbursement of funds, includes reviewing payroll reports for accuracy and reconciliation to the general ledger.Provide oversight of all accounts payable activities to ensure complete, accurate, and timely disbursement and accounting for all transactions in compliance with corporate administrative policies.Communicate operational performance of the accounting operations team - including reporting KPI for operational and financial metrics to applicable leaders within Finance and business units.Recommend, develop, implement, and communicate accounting operations policies and procedures to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance with corporate and external requirements.Drive the implementation and enhancement of processes, tools and technology in collaboration with procurement, financial planning and the finance systems teams.Support internal and external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibilityWhat you need
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required5 years of experience in cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and / or payroll functions required3 years leadership experience requiredStrong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Workday, SAP or Oracle preferred.
