Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to our expanding Finance team and has a new opportunity for a Manager Finance Innovation. This position will play a critical role in the execution of finance transformation initiatives by supporting activities that improve and develop our People, Business Processes and Systems. This position will be an active owner and contributor to various accounting/finance projects, investigate challenging operational pain points through research, as well as, partnering with varying levels of cross-functional business stakeholders.

Compensation
$112,800 - $134,000
Exempt Grade 18

The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.
What you’ll do
- Support the Director Finance Strategic Initiatives in planning, sequencing, and execution of transformation projects. Manage project timelines and ensure alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Perform environmental scan for transformation opportunities. Conduct research and analysis of existing financial systems and processes, conducts gap analyses, identifies opportunities for improvement and contributes to the design and transformation of workflows. Stay current on industry trends and emerging financial technologies.
- Collaborate with process owners to define best practices, connect end to end process flows, and identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with key stakeholders (IT, HR, Enterprise Transformation, Process Engineering, etc.) on solutions and support Finance teams in developing and deploying new tools and processes.
- Track and maintain a repository of proposed, active, and potential projects. Monitor progress, report on key metrics, and appropriately collaborate with stakeholders to right the path or adjust the plan with a focus on continual improvement of our people, systems and processes. Track and monitor success metrics to adequately measure progress and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Manage and lead efforts to maintain the Finance Division business risk and recovery plan
- Lead the workday operations core team and assist in the exploration, requirements gathering, reconciliation / data-conversion, and testing phases of the future state financial system implementation.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Finance Organization. Champion organizational change initiative, and serve as a critical resource in supporting, managing, and driving strategic projects and initiatives for Finance.
- Develop and implement change management strategies and plans for finance initiatives, including but not limited to stakeholder engagement strategies, 2-way communication strategies, and closing the feedback loop.
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in accounting information systems, accounting, finance or related field required
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial systems management, finance or related field
- 3 years leadership experience required
- Exceptionally strong analytical abilities, with a track record of identifying insights from financial information and translating into business analytics and recommendations
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Workday preferred.
- Project management experience with demonstrated experience successfully managing a cross-functional or cross-departmental team on complex projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- High level of integrity and strong attention to detail.
