This role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities involved with building and maintaining Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for our business partners and customers.
This position may be filled at the RPA Engineering Developer I, Developer II, or Developer III level, depending on qualifications and experience.
This position is eligible to work remotely in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment

Essential Functions
- You will design, test, and implement robotic process automation solutions.
- Leading and implementing successful delivery of automation solutions will require you to analyze performance of applications and troubleshoot problems to ensure successful incorporation of the digital workforce into our organizational culture.
- Our ideal candidate is a passionate coder and problem solver who provides expertise in software development, configuration, administration and deployment of automation solutions, support of the RPA infrastructure, and ownership of the overall architecture.
- Working closely with engineers, IT, and internal customers, you will enhance business processes at BCBSKS, ultimately reducing operational costs within the organization.
- You will collaborate and problem solve with the engineering services team and other engineering RPA developers.
Qualifications:
As a preferred candidate you will have achieved the following accomplishments and possess these skills:
- Working knowledge of multiple computer languages and scripting languages (C/C#/C , Ruby, Python, VB.Net/VBScript, PL/SQL, HTML, Java/JavaScript, ASP.Net).
- Experience automating processes using various tools and techniques (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, BluePrism) preferred.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps.
- Ability to create process documentation and utilize business intelligence and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) converting data from various data sources into interactive dashboards and analysis reports.
- Experience developing and consuming APIs.
- Database (SQL or NoSQL) experience preferred.
- ITIL certification preferred.
- Testing experience utilizing testing methodologies with preferred automation testing experience.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity implications of automation.
- Experience with healthcare payor business processes (such as enrollment/renewals, customer service, claims, finance, etc.) preferred.
- Excellent problem solving, decision making and analytical skills and utilization of complex troubleshooting methods.
- Superior time and project management skills.
- Must be able to work effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities while prioritizing critical tasks and projects.

RPA Engineering Developer I positions require the following:
Bachelor’s degree required (master’s degree preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Computing, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Requires UiPath Certified RPA Associate (UiRPA) certification within 6 months of hire with annual re-certification.
UiPath Certified Advanced RPA Developer (UiARD) certification is preferred.
The position requires 3 months work experience in software development with experience in robotic process automation preferred.
RPA Engineering Developer II positions require the following:
Bachelor’s degree required (master’s degree preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Computing, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Requires UiPath Certified RPA Associate (UiRPA) certification within 6 months of hire with annual re-certification. UiPath Certified Advanced RPA Developer (UiARD) certification is preferred.
The position requires 3 years work experience in software development with 2 years work experience in robotic process automation preferred.
Requires proven leadership skills and experience. Blue University leadership programs or comparable leadership programs are recommended and preferred.
This level has supervisory responsibilities over assigned automation staff and any assigned interns.
Assists with staffing recommendations to management based on RPA data.
RPA Engineering Developer III positions require the following:
Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Computing, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Requires UiPath Certified RPA Associate and Advanced Developer certifications (UiRPA & UiARD) within 6 months of hire with annual re-certification.
The position requires 7 years work experience in software development and 5 years work experience in robotic process automation.
Requires proven leadership skills and experience. Blue University leadership programs or comparable leadership programs are recommended and preferred.
This level has supervisory responsibilities over assigned automation staff and any assigned interns.
Assists with staffing recommendations to management based on RPA data.
Responsible for major changes to RPA projects and determining RPA objectives.
