We are currently seeking outgoing, multilingual Rhode Islanders to support the efforts of the Consumer Engagement department in promoting BCBSRI's mission and brand at local and regional events across the state. This position will be tasked with engaging with the community, distributing BCBSRI branded materials, guiding individuals to the appropriate department, and collecting data for lead generation.
What you will do:
Represent BCBSRI at community-based events in a professional manner
Enthusiastically engage and inform the broader RI community about BCBSRI; provide information (appropriate collateral) on our products and connect community members to other organizations
Conduct street-level community outreach; identify barriers to community outreach efforts and appropriately seek input
Assist in the planning of community events, understanding target audience to provide relative collateral, giveaways, and plan overall experience
Provide critical administrative support to assist in informing members of upcoming engagement opportunities
Support data collection efforts at every event; create ad-hoc reports as requested to illustrate community engagement. Prepare and submit reports to the management team as needed
Provide detailed recaps and reports following each event, inclusive of highlighting activities, issues, and frequently asked questions
Participate in trainings, meetings, and brainstorm sessions
Other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed:
Excellent oral communication skills: ability to orally engage in languages other than English preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks; proactively problem solve and be highly organized in a fast-paced environment; ability to work independently
Proficiency in a Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Outgoing and engaging personality, excellent people skills with an ability to interact professionally with internal and external clients at all levels within an organization
Desire and ability to interact professionally with community members
Attend scheduled events in Rhode Island and surrounding areas; commitment to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to lift 10-30lbs and assist with the setup and break down of events
Possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and automobile.

Flexibility with schedule as there are some weekend and evening events
