Position Overview
Blue Eye is advancing our AI-powered IoT security system with a robust pipeline of product enhancements. The Product Owner will be a pivotal member of our engineering team, driving project execution with precision and strategic oversight. This role blends project management, detailed requirements definition, and proactive work tracking to deliver a clear, actionable task pipeline for engineering, eliminating ambiguity and enabling efficient execution. The ideal candidate excels at aligning technical deliverables with stakeholder goals, thrives on structured planning, and integrates seamlessly into our collaborative team.
Responsibilities
• Manage a dynamic, well-prioritized product backlog within a robust work tracking system (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps), ensuring tasks are groomed, actionable, and reflective of real-time needs.
• Define and refine detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, breaking down complex features into optimally sized tasks for agile execution.
• Maintain a forward-looking task pipeline, keeping at least one iteration’s worth of prioritized, ready-to-execute tasks available for engineering iterations.
• Gather stakeholder input and integrate feedback into the development cycle, ensuring deliverables consistently meet initial requirements and strategic goals.
• Serve as a fully integrated team member, collaborating closely with engineers, UX designers, and management to align projects with business and user objectives.
• Participate in task completion reviews, validating engineering outputs against defined criteria and providing go/no-go decisions with a focus on quality.
• Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and review sessions, fostering a shared understanding and context among the team.
• Track project progress, timelines, and dependencies with meticulous detail, proactively resolving blockers to maintain momentum.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with technical teams and leadership, delivering structured updates on status, risks, and outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in a Product Owner, Project Manager, Business Analyst or Scrum Master role, with a focus on software development projects.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate into a technical team, bridging communication between engineers and management with exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in managing a structured product backlog, with 3 years defining detailed requirements, user stories, and task breakdowns in tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Proven ability to maintain a proactive, prioritized task pipeline that minimizes engineering ambiguity, with 3 years in agile environments.
• Strong analytical skills and a meticulous approach to ensuring deliverables align with requirements, with 2 years in a validation or quality assurance capacity.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field AND 5 years of relevant experience. OR equivalent experience (7 years in Product Owner/Project Management roles without a degree).
Additional / Preferred Qualifications:
• 7 years of experience as a Product Owner or Project Manager in software development, ideally in IoT, security, or enterprise systems.
• Experience driving AI-driven or real-time data products with engineering teams (2 years preferred).
• PMP, Scrum Master, or Product Owner certification (e.g., CSPO, PSPO) with 2 years of applied practice.
