Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Propane Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with propane systems and appliances, ensuring they are installed, maintained, and repaired in accordance with safety standards. The technician will provide exceptional customer service while managing propane equipment and troubleshooting system issues. A strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and service propane tanks, heating systems, and appliances.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of propane equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.
- Test and repair various propane systems, including residential and commercial setups.
- Provide accurate diagnosis and estimates for repairs and replacements.
- Maintain detailed records of all service activities, equipment inspections, and repairs.
- Perform leak detection and pressure tests for propane systems.
- Educate customers on propane safety, usage, and maintenance.
- Ensure proper installation of gas lines and other related components in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Respond to emergency service calls and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with propane delivery and handling as needed.
- Maintain and update knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a propane technician or in a related field.
- Knowledge of propane equipment, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Propane certification (e.g., from a recognized institution like the National Propane Gas Association) is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and system schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- OSHA or similar safety certification is a plus.
