As a Deli Associate & Custodian, you will play a crucial role in maintaining store cleanliness & organization, providing exceptional service to our customers and ensuring the smooth operation of our deli food department. Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to produce relevant ID(s)
- Must be vaccinated for COVID-19
- Must be able to regularly and promptly commute to work
- Must be regularly available at least Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings
- Must be able to regularly complete tasks involving lifting
Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a variety of deli products, including sandwiches, salads, and hot food items, assist customers with their deli orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions they may have, operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area, including proper food handling and storage, ensuring product quality by monitoring freshness and rotating stock as necessary, following all food safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment, upselling additional products or promotions to customers to enhance their shopping experience, collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction, restocking and organizing and cleaning the market including customer & employee areas.
Skills:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred but not necessary
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of basic math for recipe & cash handling purposes
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and procedures for food preparation
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
