COMPANY PROFILE
Blue Grotto Capital (“Blue Grotto”) is an Atlanta-based Long/Short equity hedge fund manager founded by Ben Gordon. Blue Grotto invests globally in a wide range of industries with focus on TMT, consumer staples, durables and industrials. The firm commenced investing in 2019 and manages over $700 million. Our investment philosophy emphasizes using fundamental research to invest in companies that offer asymmetric returns, both long and short.
Blue Grotto is seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Trading to support COO/CFO on equity trade execution and operations. It is anticipated that order execution and monitoring will be approximately 50% of the role, with the remaining will be to assist the COO as VP of Operations, taking on additional responsibilities in all areas of operations, finance, and compliance.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibility will encompass all aspects of portfolio trading and operations, including:
· Order prioritization, monitoring, and execution of US, Asian, and European trades from portfolio manager
· Trade break resolution, pre-/post-trade analysis
· Commission management and broker wallet/vote
· Establishing/maintaining partnerships with prime brokers, sell-side desks and individual traders
· Negotiating commission rates, short sale borrow costs, swap rates, and lending income
Secondary responsibilities will be to assist the CFO/COO and PM in other areas:
· Oversight of Fund Administrator
· Quarterly reporting support
· Research vendor management and contract negotiations
· Accounting and compliance support
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum of 3 years of experience as public equities trader or trading assistant, preferably at a highly regarded buy-side institution
· Track record of success at taking on new responsibilities
· Strong understanding of equity trade lifecycle
· Fluency with OMS/EMS and reporting software - Eze Eclipse preferred

Compensation
Compensation will consist of a competitive base salary, commensurate with experience, and bonus plan, based on a combination of individual and fund performance.
