What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Aide position at Blue Jay Springs Senior Living and Memory Care?
The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Activity Director with any planning, and organizing activities for residents within the community.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist with activity programs that encourages and promotes residents to maintain and develop their highest potential for independent living through their participation in planned recreational and other activities.
- Assist in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family.
- Perform administrative requirements per the Activity Director
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
- Involve residents and families in planning facility activity programs.
- Assist in arranging transportation to other facilities when necessary.
- Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.
- Assist with maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for the activity department.
- Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
- Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
- Maintain a reference library of written material, laws, etc., necessary for complying with current standards and regulations and that will provide assistance in maintaining a quality activity program.
- Involve the resident/family in planning objectives and goals for the resident.
- May perform other reasonable duties as directed by the Activity Director.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Two years of experience in an assisted living or healthcare setting, preferred.
