The Role:
The Director of Human Resources (HR) will lead the company’s HR strategy and operations, ensuring alignment with business goals while fostering a high performing, engaged workforce. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role oversees all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, benefits administration, and culture development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company objectives. Lead the creation of HR policies that support company culture and employee engagement.
- Talent Acquisition & Management: Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and develop top talent. Collaborate with leadership to identify workforce needs and implement effective hiring plans.
- Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for employees, addressing concerns and fostering a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration.
- Performance Management: Lead performance review processes, goal setting, and professional development initiatives. Partner with managers to drive employee growth and accountability.
- HR Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. Maintain HR policies and procedures to mitigate risk and promote a safe and inclusive workplace.
- Benefits Administration: Manage benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans. Recommend enhancements to support employee well-being.

Requirements:
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives.
Experience:
- 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in biotech, healthcare, or a related industry is a plus.
- Experience working across states, specifically managing HR practices in the states of Georgia and California.
- Experience working in startups or small organizations building programs and processes from the ground up is required.
- Experience managing payroll, benefits, talent processes and PEO.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred.
