About the Role:
We seek a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to manage the day-to-day shipping and receiving operations. This role involves overseeing the shipment of goods, verifying deliveries, maintaining inventory accuracy, and coordinating with various teams to ensure timely and efficient processes. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll do
- Coordinate and oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Verify the accuracy of shipments by checking orders, packing lists, and invoices against received goods.
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
- Organize and maintain inventory of all received materials and outgoing goods.
- Communicate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and resolution of discrepancies.
- Monitor shipments to ensure they meet company and customer timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities in company databases.
- Inspect and report damaged goods or discrepancies to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards for shipping and receiving operations.
- Optimize shipping processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred).
- 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or a related role.
- Proficiency in shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
- Knowledge of freight, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Knowledge of international shipping and customs regulations.
- Forklift certification or ability to operate warehouse equipment.
Work Environment
- Warehouse environment.
- May require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Possible exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
