Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Food Service Custodian to join our team on a part-time basis. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas after regular business hours. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thorough, and committed to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize all food prep surfaces, equipment, and utensils
Sweep, mop, and disinfect kitchen and dining area floors
Remove trash, recyclables, and food waste from designated areas
Clean walls, doors, baseboards, and high-touch surfaces
Restock and maintain cleaning and sanitation supplies
Properly store cleaning materials and comply with safety procedures
Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor
Other duties as needed to maintain a clean and sanitary area
Qualifications:
Prior custodial or cleaning experience in a food service setting is a plus
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and safe chemical use
Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
Able to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for long periods
Work Environment:
Fast-paced, physical work in kitchen and dining settings
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, commercial kitchen equipment, and temperature variations
