Primarily sells business telecommunications solutions to commercial customers. May sell more complex telecommunications equipment to residential customers. Researches and determines likely customers for equipment and services. Responds to inquiries. Informs and educates potential customers of services available. Follows up on installations and alterations to ensure customer satisfaction. Assists as required with local marketing events.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Sells business telecommunications solutions and telecommunications equipment by identifying, researching and contacting potential customers.
- Generates new contacts through appointments, marketing letters, telephone calls, emails, and referrals.
- Cold calls potential customers to provide product and service information to assist them in determining appropriate broadband and telecommunications products to meet their current and future needs.
- Recommends additional products or services to meet customer needs.
- Trains customers on telecommunications and broadband products and services.
- Analyzes communication needs of each client, using bill comparison and individual needs.
- Writes up proposals with quotes, terms of sale, and delivery dates.
- Processes orders for service along with other company products.
- Quote rates for services and write up orders. Explain billing, long distance, broadband, wifi, UCaaS, voice mail and features using brochures and knowledge.
- Responds to public inquiries on the selection and availability of services and on billing inquiries about local service, toll charges, or other offerings.
- Informs and educates potential customers of available products and services.
- Develops relationships with new and existing customers for future service needs.
- Maintains contact with existing customer base and capitalizes on any new revenue opportunities within this customer base. Makes retention contacts with existing customers a minimum of twice annually, and inserts contact in sales force assistance tools.
- Follows up with customers following installations and alterations to ensure customer satisfaction. Explains first bill with customer. Requests follow-up information from customers regarding their perceived satisfaction with service performance at least once every six months.
- Ensures the accuracy of billing data and security of customer accounts.
- Report performance to the VP of Sales as requested or customary.
- Prepares correspondence and reports as needed.
- Processes all required paperwork.
- Recommends pricing strategy for services, including competitive pricing, and products due to market reflection.
- Recommends new features and services due to market changes.
- Helps all users of company products and services get technical support.
- Relays all trouble reports and assists other departments in resolving customer problems.
- Assists as required with local marketing events.
- Maintains visible involvement in communities served.
- Maintains and manages referral partner relationships.
- Handles assignments and projects of a confidential nature and conducts themselves in such a manner as will positively reflect upon Blue Mountain Networks.
- Contributes to harmonious relations with co-workers, customers, and the general public.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of telecommunications technology, unified communications, Wireless products and services.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of company products and services.
- Knowledge of marketing and sales practices and principles.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in operating various office equipment, Office 365 i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, as well as business telephone systems.
- Skill in persuasion techniques.
- Skill in negotiating.
- Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
- Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.
- Must be well organized and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Bi-Lingual preferred
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma is required and preferred if candidate has some college completion.
- Requires a comprehensive working knowledge of commercial telecommunications products and data services.
- Five years’ experience working with the public in networking, telecommunications, wireless or sales roles.
