- Key Responsibilities :
- Injury Prevention :
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs.
- Conduct pre-participation physical assessments.
- Educate athletes on proper techniques, conditioning, and nutrition.
- Injury Assessment and Treatment :
- Evaluate injuries and provide immediate care.
- Administer first aid and emergency care as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals for diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Rehabilitation :
- Design and oversee rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
- Monitor progress and adjust programs as necessary.
- Ensure safe return-to-play protocols are followed.
- Record Keeping :
- Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
- Prepare reports for coaches, parents, and medical personnel, as needed.
- Collaboration and Communication :
- Work closely with Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, coaches, athletes, and parents to promote health and safety.
- Provide education on injury management and prevention strategies.
- Event Coverage :
- Attend practices and games to provide on-site medical support.
- Coordinate emergency procedures for events.
- Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training
- Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
- Pennsylvania State licensure as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and assist injured athletes.
- Physical stamina for long hours of activity.
