Your Role
The Senior Markets, Actuarial & Financial Analytics team serves as key financial advisors to the General Manager of Senior Markets. Key responsibilities of the team include pricing and forecasting of financials and membership for all senior products. The Financial Analyst, Principal will report to the Director, Actuarial & Financial Analytics. In this role you will be responsible for driving strategic projects focused on improving the profitability of the senior market segment. In addition, this role will be responsible for communicating a holistic financial picture of total senior markets, which includes several product lines, to the general manager and stakeholders.
- RESPONSIBILITIES
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Monitor and measure cash flow and regulatory capital
- Collect and evaluate data, develop and maintain financial models, analyze results and conduct scenario analyses to forecast balance sheet, cash flow and regulatory capital
- Reconcile data results from different sources and combine them into integrated reports spanning cost, quality, utilization, and risk profile metrics
- Follow and conduct audit processes and review internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely and comply with accounting standards, principles and company policy
- Participate on internal workgroups and committees to provide analytical insight and support for the implementation and enhancement of new programs, products, and services
- Manage projects end to end, while providing oversight to junior analysts.
- Communicate financial results regularly to stakeholders, and partner cross-functionally to communicate actionable insights from the financial results
- Routinely undergo process improvements to drive efficiencies and improve outcomes
- Lead market and competitive analysis
QUALIFICATIONS
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
Pay Range: The pay range for this role is: $ 136400.00 to $ 204600.00 for California.
Note: Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

Physical Requirements:
Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Due to the current public health emergency in California, Blue Shield employees are almost all working remotely. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
