Focus:
- Lead safety culture by modeling best practices and pre-task planning across geotechnical operations.
- Serve as the senior technical advisor and project manager for complex geotechnical investigations and designs.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, promoting leadership growth and technical advancement.
- Oversee engineering deliverables and field testing for projects involving tunnels, dams, deep foundations, retaining walls, and more.
- Guide proposal development, client relationship management, and project scoping.
- Perform technical review of geotechnical designs and analysis, including ground improvement systems, instrumentation strategies, and forensic evaluations.
- Apply risk management techniques across both conventional and alternative delivery models.
- Lead QA/QC efforts and champion continuous quality improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Represent the firm’s geotechnical practice externally, contributing to market visibility and new business growth.
Skill Set:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.
- 15 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience within heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Experienced in utilizing geotechnical engineering software including LPILE, SLOPE/W, APILE, GRLWEAP, MSEW, and PLAXIS.
- Deep understanding of AASHTO LRFD and traditional ASD/LFD methodologies.
- Strong familiarity with DOT and FHWA regulations (FDOT experience highly preferred).
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
- Active membership in relevant technical or geotechnical organizations a plus.
