We're looking for a strategic Payroll & Benefits leader to oversee and optimize our compensation and perks programs, ensuring precision, adherence to regulations, and seamless execution. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in compensation, benefits administration, and HRIS systems. Focus:
- Oversee and administer payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Manage benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives, while ensuring compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
- Act as the key liaison for staff, offering expert guidance and responsive support to address all payroll and benefits questions and concerns.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure proper reporting, reconciliation, and compliance with internal and external audits.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices to implement necessary changes and maintain compliance.
- Facilitate informative sessions and workshops to enhance employee and leadership understanding of benefits offerings, payroll operations, and organizational policy developments.
- Maintain and optimize HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy, security, and efficient functionality.
- Develop and maintain effective record-keeping and reporting systems for payroll and benefits administration.
Skill Set:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience and education will be considered.
- Minimum of four years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
- Dynamic communication skills, with a proven track record of confidently and effectively engaging audiences through compelling presentations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining efficiency under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Windows-based systems.
- Highly proficient in leveraging human capital management technology, including HR information systems and benefits administration platforms, to drive efficient payroll and benefits operations.
- Background or experience working within organizations focused on social services, youth development, or philanthropy is highly desirable.
- Payroll and benefits certification (e.g., CPP, CBP, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Experience implementing process improvements in payroll and benefits administration.
