What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager – Production Supervisor position at Blue Siren Inc?
This is a working leadership role, not a desk-only position. The successful candidate will be actively involved on the production floor—assisting with soldering, assembly, testing, and technical troubleshooting—while also managing workflow, quality control, and staff supervision.
You’ll work alongside the Owner/CEO and take charge during their business travel (~1 week/month), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and production continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a small team of 10 technical and production staff
- Actively work on the floor to help maintain production flow—including soldering, assembly, and testing tasks
- Perform manual and automated soldering (through-hole and SMT) as needed
- Conduct QA checks on wireless sensor systems before shipment
- Coordinate workflow, prioritize jobs, and assist with scheduling to meet build targets
- Act as the on-site lead during periods when the CEO is away on travel
- Uphold safety, cleanliness, and efficiency across a two-floor manufacturing space
- Communicate with engineering and design staff to resolve technical issues and streamline production steps
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Solid experience with hands-on electronics production, especially soldering
- Familiarity with key electronics manufacturing processes:
- SMT assembly using pick-and-place machines
- Wave soldering and reflow techniques
- CNC machining (basic familiarity)
- Potting and encapsulation methods
- Understanding of ESD safety, component handling, and basic electrical testing
- Ability to diagnose simple circuit issues or board failures
- Capable of walking multiple flights of stairs daily and working on your feet for extended periods
