Solar Installer

Blue Sky Energy Solutions specializes in residential, commercial and custom solar energy solutions in the Midwest. We are looking for Solar Installers and Crew Leads who have a passionate interest in solar energy and a drive to lead and grow our solar division. The ideal candidate will bring solar experience, professionalism, reliability, and will be detail oriented. In addition, we’re looking for individuals who have a desire to pursue solar certifications and advance in Blue Sky’s career path. Experience in solar installation and willingness to travel for out of town projects is always a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Layout and assembly of solar panels and racking hardware
• Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment
• Properly repair and seal roof penetration
• Perform maintenance on the solar system as needed
• Prepare inventory for installs and document completion of installation
• Work well within a team environment
• Project clean up
• Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety

Qualifications:

• Solar or Construction experience is preferred
• Must be able to routinely lift 50lbs
• Ability to work in extreme environments (example: heat, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)
• Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
• Basic computer skills
• High school diploma or GED required
• Excellent customer service skills required
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal check, MVR and drug screen
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Able to work with power tools
• Must follow all safety policies and standards for working

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
