Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Associate Project Manager to manage the development and implementation of products and services within a cross-functional team environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and ensuring the timely delivery of projects while maintaining quality and compliance standards. This role requires strong project management skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and implementation of new or existing products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams.
- Estimate project levels of effort and resource requirements using standard estimating techniques and tools.
- Prepare project plans, schedules, and budgets using project management tools such as Microsoft Project and by collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee project execution by assigning tasks, tracking schedules, identifying risks, and developing contingency plans.
- Ensure project quality through the application of standard development methodologies.
- Communicate project status by preparing reports and participating in departmental and customer project status meetings.
- Identify and resolve project issues by working closely with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide project management expertise and mentorship to junior team members in project management processes and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2-5 years of related work experience with a strong understanding of project management principles, OR
- Master’s degree with 0-2 years of related work experience, OR
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Technical & Business Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of project management concepts, tools, and methodologies.
- General understanding of business unit/group function.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
- Strong risk management, scheduling, and budgeting skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with sound judgment in project execution.
- Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.
- Broad knowledge of technical alternatives and an understanding of their impact on the systems environment.
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a quality system environment where compliance with governmental regulations is required.
- Previous experience working in regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing.
