Rate: $61 - $67/hr

Contract Type: W-2 (must be authorized to work in the U.S.; no sponsorships or C2C)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong cybersecurity background to plan and manage medium-to-large scale IT projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that project outcomes contribute positive business value by meeting agreed scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives while overseeing cybersecurity measures within the project environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of project management and SDLC methodologies, Agile process experience for application implementation, and the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a regulated setting.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets using automated planning tools.
- Manage multiple cross-functional IT projects, ensuring timely delivery of application implementation and infrastructure initiatives.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Build strong relationships with technology partners and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Liaise with business groups to establish project priorities and communicate them clearly to technology teams.
- Facilitate regular progress meetings with internal stakeholders and provide frequent status updates and risk assessments to leadership.
Risk & Issue Management:
- Proactively manage changes in project scope and identify project risks; devise and implement effective contingency plans.
- Monitor project dependencies and critical paths, and resolve issues and conflicts within project teams.
Cybersecurity Oversight:
- Ensure that all cybersecurity measures comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Prepare for and respond to audits, and identify potential cybersecurity risks, developing strategies to mitigate them.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Create clear and concise project documentation, including process maps, charts, and reports that articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Track project cost management, resource capacity, and overall progress using MS Project, SharePoint, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions, maximizing the efficiency of IT infrastructure and project deliverables.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, with 7 years overall work experience.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in project management and SDLC methodologies and tools.
- Proven Agile process experience for application implementation.
- Basic understanding of IT Enterprise technologies.
- Experience with project cost management, resource capacity planning, and business process development.
- Must have a cybersecurity background (experience in cybersecurity is a must).
Skills:
- Strong project management, planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to influence and hold team members accountable without direct authority.
- Proficient in using automated project planning tools and Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Project and SharePoint.
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A sense of urgency and the ability to work on large, complex initiatives with multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the utilities or energy industry.
- Cloud-based, SaaS, and on-premise application implementation and integration experience.
- PMP certification.
- Agile certification (e.g., PSM, PSPO).
- ITIL v3 or v4 certification.
- Familiarity with the energy industry.
- Experience in cybersecurity within a regulated environment is a plus.
