What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator/Assembler position at Blue Star Plastics?

Responsibilities

· Remove the molded plastic parts from injection molding machines.

· Trim part from runner using a gate trimming side cutter.

· Trim flash from part if needed.

· Inspect part using written and verbal instructions.

· Efficiently and accurately read and follow work instructions

· Pack parts in boxes/containers.

· Record rejects parts at the molding machine

· Advise next operator of any information about press or molded parts

· Complete any task that is asked of you by your Team Leader or Supervisor

· Prepares contract assemblies to be accomplished by studying assembly work instructions, specification, bill of materials

· Assemble components by use of fixtures and hand tools

· Notify Supervisor when problems arise

· Maintain acceptable levels of inventory at the workstation

· Notify Supervisor or Utility operator of anticipated inventory shortages

· Complete paperwork such as scrap reporting and document downtime when applicable

· Assist Supervisor with problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvement by way of Counter Measures

· Ensure cleanliness and maintains safe work environment within assembly department

· Maintain positive attitude

· Must maintain acceptable attendance within the Companies Attendance policy

· Keep workstation neat and orderly

· Comply with Company policies, Procedures, Quality and Safety standards at all times

· Use Defect Response Plan – “Stop, Call, Wait!”

Job Skill Requirements

· Physical Requirements, Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach and move across uneven surfaces. Ability to stand most of the shift.

· Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
