Financial Division Director – Administrative Support Services Team
Location: St. Clair, MI

Position Overview
The Financial Division Director oversees and coordinates all fiscal activities within the organization. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, compliance, and fiscal management of BWDH and affiliated non-profits, such as Chippewa, Landmark, Sanborn, South East Michigan Non-Profit Housing, and Blue Water Residential Non-Profit Housing.
This role ensures that all financial operations align with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements, supporting the Executive Director and Administrative Services Division Director in financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
General Financial Oversight
✔️ Assist in budget preparation and monitoring for all entities.
✔️ Manage accounts payable/receivable and ensure compliance with proper financial processes.
✔️ Ensure adherence to funding source reporting requirements.
✔️ Monitor and report fiscal variances and financial data.
✔️ Oversee fundraising revenue and expenses tracking.
✔️ Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
✔️ Submit payroll tax reports in compliance with local, state, and federal laws (W-2, W-3, 1099).
✔️ Handle insurance renewals and claims processing.
✔️ Maintain cash flow management and prepare financial statements.
✔️ Reconcile bank statements and maintain depreciation schedules for assets.
✔️ Ensure financial records are maintained for IRS compliance (7-year retention).
✔️ Manage general ledger activities and coordinate annual fiscal audits.
✔️ Calculate and report wage detail for workers’ compensation audits.
Entity-Specific Financial Management
Blue Water Developmental Housing, Inc.
✔️ Calculate per diem rates for community-based consumers.
✔️ Reconcile individual consumer bank statements monthly.
✔️ Handle representative payee responsibilities for individuals receiving services.
✔️ Maintain a vehicle assignment log for company programs.
✔️ Monitor and manage food stamp cash balances for eligible consumers.
✔️ Calculate year-end bonuses based on surplus revenue.
Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home
✔️ Request fund transfers from the Oppenheimer Trust.
✔️ Track Capital Campaign costs and revenue.
✔️ Report personal care days for eligible consumers to the Department of Human Services.
Blue Water Residential Non-Profit Housing Corp.
✔️ Assist consumers in reporting to DHS for assistance (e.g., utility allowances, food stamps).
Agency & Supervisory Responsibilities
✔️ Work in alignment with BWDH’s mission, vision, and values.
✔️ Promote a collaborative, efficient, and high-performing workplace.
✔️ Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners.
✔️ Provide cross-training on key fiscal activities.
✔️ Assume Account Clerk responsibilities when necessary.
✔️ Supervise and coordinate activities of Accounts Clerks.
Qualifications
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
✔️ Minimum of four (4) years of fiscal management experience.
✔️ Strong knowledge of computerized and non-profit accounting.
✔️ Must pass an acceptable criminal record check and drug screening.
✔️ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (acceptable for insurance purposes).
**Preferred:** CPA designation.
