Penske Vehicle Services (PVS) is a light industrial service supplier to automobile OEMs and tier one suppliers, specializing in the provision of liquid paint, paint film application, mechanical/assembly, and vehicle lifecycle management services through its small volume, scalable production facilities and customer locations. PVS employs nearly 500 employees with its headquarters located in Troy, MI. Over 65% of its associates are employed as skilled mechanical and paint technicians.
PVS is looking for a Director of Finance. This position is a key member of the Finance Team and business partner to the operations team. The Director of Finance has responsibility to assist in the execution of the businesss strategy including all aspects of external and internal financial reporting, ERP systems, financial process flows, budgeting and forecasting, tax and regulatory compliance, risk and insurance, and accounting operations.
The Director of Finance will collaborate with other leadership and cross- functional teams to integrate Finance into all strategies, activities, and decision-making processes. This person will work with Vice Present Finance and Controller to define the vision for future state capabilities.
Major Responsibilities:
- PVS reports financials monthly according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This person will work with internal stakeholders to streamline processes to ensure proper accuracy and timing of reporting requirements.
-Advise and implement financial metrics and analytics to be used by the Management Team to continuously monitor and assess business performance on a real time basis. Advise and assist in implementing the use of technology, including the use of Power BI.
-PVS uses Microsoft D365 as its ERP system. Advise and implement ideas to maximize efficiencies.
-Work with all departments on improving process flows to ensure accuracy and timely visibility of data.
-We present an annual budget to the shareholders. Provide direction internally on the information and timing required to complete the budget, with timely completion according to shareholder requirements.
-Forecasting: Provide ongoing forecasts internally to the senior management team and externally to shareholders.
-Assist in working with external CPA firms to complete Federal, State and Local tax returns in the USA and Canada. Ensure compliance with sales and use tax laws. Work with any tax or regulatory agency performing audits.
-Risk and Insurance: Work with shareholders insurance department and 3rd party vendor, provide information and relevant business details to allow proper insurance coverage.
-Accounting Operations: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organizations financial assets. Work with finance team and other departments to ensure accuracy and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts. Maintain optimal cash flow. Provide leadership with other departments on process flows and use of technology to improve effectiveness and efficiencies.
-Effectively manage all balance sheet accounts for a plant and other areas of responsibility.
Job Requirements:
-15 years experience in Finance/Accounting
-Bachelors degree in finance/accounting required
-Masters degree preferred
-CPA preferred
-Excellent communication and people skills required
-Excellent problem solving and analytical skills required
-Data mining and report tool (experience Power BI, etc.)
-Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite required
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
