Blue Water Pools of Grand Rapids, Inc. is the premier backyard living construction company in the West Michigan area since 1987. We design and build custom residential outdoor living projects as the General Contractor. We work with custom home builders and residential clients to create a total backyard living space. Elements of construction from demolition to final completion of outdoor kitchens, pergola's, in-ground pool or hot tub, fire pit or fireplace, hardscapes, landscaping, fencing, drainage, and total yard repair. We have our own construction team, as well, outsource with subcontractors. Hourly range is $25 to $28, based on skills and experience. $250 sign on bonus. MUST have a clean driving record.
Position Summary:
The Site Project Assistant is responsible to report and assist the Project Manager and/or other Management to perform the planning, purchasing, scheduling, implementation, and tracking of a specific construction project. This position reports directly to the Senior Project Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist in defining the scope of the project with the appropriate Project Manager, the Senior Project Manager, and the Designers.
- Assist the Project Manager in creating a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to complete the project in a scheduling format.
- Assist the Project Manager with the control and revise the schedule as required and keep all crew leaders advised.
- Solicit and obtain bids from subcontractors and vendors.
- Assist to ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the project. Assist that all subcontractors sign Company Subcontractor agreement and provide necessary insurance.
- Assist with the project according to the plan with the direction of the Senior Project Manager.
- Assist to ensure all required inspections are completed as required by code and company policy.
- Assist to set up and maintain good records to document project activities to all managers and contractors working on the project.
- Assist with the communication progress and schedule to the client to keep them informed.
- Keep plans on site. Note changes on site copies and keep all parties advised and informed as changes developed or may be needed.
- Notify Project Manager or Senior Project Manager when client wants to make changes or additions to the plan or proposed work.
- Assist in the preparation of changes in the proposal, change orders review, issues change orders to subcontractors.
- Keep the Project Manager fully informed in a timely fashion about any and all problem a reason the project.
- Make inspections if needed by direction of Project Manager on each project and report problems to responsible party and the appropriate Project Manager and Senior Project Manager.
- Assist with taking photos of all work before covering and keep in project files.
- Maintain good relationships with the client, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, municipal authorities, and company personnel involved with the project.
- Actively participate and/or lead post-bid, coordination, lead time, subcontractor, staffing, scheduling, and other meetings.
- Assist to ensure that the project deliveries are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
- Communicate any changes or delays to the appropriate Project Managers and Senior Project Manager.
