Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team at a reputable cannabis retail shop. This role requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of 2-5 years of management experience in a retail setting, ideally within the cannabis industry. The Assistant Manager will collaborate closely with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, uphold exceptional customer service standards, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence: Assist the Store Manager in maintaining efficient store operations, including inventory management, cash handling, and daily reconciliation.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a diverse team of budtenders and support staff, fostering a positive work environment through effective communication, coaching, and training.
- Customer Experience: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing expert product knowledge, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere.
- Compliance: Uphold strict adherence to state and local regulations governing the sale and distribution of cannabis products, including age verification and product safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, oversee regular stock audits, and collaborate with vendors to ensure a well-stocked and diverse product selection.
- Sales and Financial Performance: Drive sales through strategic merchandising, promotions, and suggestive selling techniques while achieving financial targets and controlling operational costs.
- Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and staff, implementing protocols for loss prevention and emergency situations.
- Community Engagement: Represent the store positively within the local community, participating in outreach events and building relationships with stakeholders.
Experience/Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive management experience in retail, with preference given to candidates with cannabis industry experience.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on budgeting and inventory control.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention
- Proven leadership abilities, including staff supervision, team development, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong understanding of cannabis products, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Proficiency in POS systems and inventory management software.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Physical Requirements:
