Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of ponds and lakes (electrofishing surveys, water quality measurements, bathymetric maps, aquatic vegetation control, etc.).
- Effectively communicate and interpret data with clients through written reports and regular phone calls. Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and objectives.
- Regular maintenance on equipment, such as oil changes, trailer bearings, sterilization protocols, etc.
-Safely transport and stock fish long distances.
-Aquatic vegetation control- safely apply aquatic herbicides and algaecides. New employees will be trained and expected to acquire a pesticide applicators license when they are ready.
-Drive a heavy-duty truck and large trailer long distances and through large cities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Fisheries Biology or a related field.
- Experience in Fisheries Management (2 years).
- Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret data.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with clients and collaborate with the team.
Expectations:
- Ability to develop and implement effective fisheries management strategies.
- Ability to drive a large truck with a large trailer long distances, and through large cities.
-Ability to back a trailer down a boat ramp.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Knowledge in electrofishing systems.
- Ability to show up on time and adhere to a schedule.
- Flexibility to work long days, and overnight trips.
- Having initiative to learn, whether from coworkers or online content.
-Willing to put in the extra time to master everyday job duties.
-Positive Mental Attitude.
-Mechanical skills- ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues if they were to arise while on a job site.
Compensation:
-$21 to$24 per hour, commensurate of experience.
-Overtime: Time-and-a-half (when exceeding 40 hrs/week).
